Sacred bathing rituals, baths with intention beyond just cleansing, have taken place over centuries and throughout all cultures globally. The intentions of baths can run the range from removing negative energy to calling in love to bringing in abundance. They often consist of a mix of specific herbs, oils, salt, affirmations, and can be amplified by prayer, candles and crystals. Sometimes they aren’t even a true bath; you aren’t always going to be soaking in a tub. In this case, these are more body washes where the herbs are boiled and then strained and the water from the mixture is then considered your “bath.”

Did You Know: Water as we know can be used for healing, purification, anointing, blessings and more.

In this article I will be teaching you three sacred baths:

  1. Abundance Bath
  2. Hex/Negative Energy Breaking Bath
  3. Romance Sacred Bath

Don’t Have a Tub?

Take note that if you don’t have an actual bath tub you can simply mix the ingredients together in a bowl and then use it as a body scrub and hop into your shower to rinse off.

Dos and Don’ts to sacred bathing:

  • Make sure your physical space is clean
  • If you know you’ve sensitive skin then do a skin patch test first before utilizing the recipes
  • These baths do not replace medical advice so please use common sense
  • These baths are for external use only; do not place these mixtures inside of any bodily opening
  • Do not inform anyone that you are currently taking sacred baths, especially if you’re doing the hex breaking bath, as you never know who could be sending you the evil eye and informing them of what you’re doing could be arming them even more to work up against you.

1. Waxing Moon Bath: Abundance Bath

This bath helps to bring in abundance in all of the ways that it wishes to show up for you. Here we use the power of the Waxing Moon for amplification.

The Waxing Moon is great for growth, increasing abundance, and beginning new projects. This Moon Bath is focused on calling the frequency of abundance, which extends past the monetary to include joy, luck, and general good will. You can find out what cycle the moon is in by googling the “date + moon cycle” which will tell you exactly what you need to know.

Abundance Waxing Moon Bath Recipe:

  • 6 drops of lavender essential oil
  • 3 drops of rosemary essential oil
  • 1 teaspoon of jojoba, coconut, or almond oil
  • 2 cups of epsom Salt
  • 3-5 slices of fresh orange (optional)
  • 1 handful of fresh or dried mint (optional)
  • 1 cinnamon stick or a cinnamon incense or myrrh

The Ritual:

Step 1: Mix the oils and salt together and pour them into the tub under the running water. Then add the mint and oranges to the bathwater, holding thoughts of joy and good luck as you do so.

Step 2: Light the cinnamon stick or incense and wave it around the bathroom to clear any stagnant energy. As you do this say out loud: “Abundance is mine; wealth is my frequency.”

Step 3: Light a 7-day green candle and place it somewhere you can physically see it and gaze into it.

Step 4: Before getting into the bath and as the bathwater continues to run, write down 3-5 abundance manifestations that you wish to bring in over the next 12 months.

Step 5: Turn the lights down low. Enter the bath and soak for 20 mins. Gaze into the flame of the candle while visualizing what abundance means to you and how you’ll feel once you align with the frequency of money, wealth, joy, and luck. Feel free to repeat the mantra out loud as often as you need it.

Step 6: You ideally will allow the candle to fully burn out throughout the day/overnight, but if not, you can snuff it out and relight the next day, once again, going over your goals and continuing to add to your list if needed.

Housekeeping Notes:

Once the candle is done, you can throw it out or recycle it. You can do this moon bath anytime under the Waxing Moon but also on Fridays which is ruled by Jupiter, the planet of fortune.

NOTE: If you can’t get a green candle, a white one will do.

2. Waning Moon Bath: Hex/Negative Energy Breaking Bath

The Waning Moon is the most powerful moon for releasing what no longer serves you. This bath is great for when you know that someone is trying to hex/curse you or someone is generally giving you the evil eye. You can also take this bath/sacred wash to help lift depression, anxiety, sadness, and stagnation.

Although we are using the amplification power of the Waning Moon, this bath can be performed at any time. It’s key to note that this is not a sit in the tub and soak bath. You’ll actually be making a sacred wash that you will pour over your body after taking a quick shower.

Hex Breaking Waning Moon Bath Recipe:

  • 1 cup of dried or fresh peppermint
  • 1 cup of dried or fresh basil
  • 1 cup of dried or fresh hyssop
  • 3 tablespoons of salt

The Ritual:

Step 1: Bring a large pot of water to a boil then pour in all ingredients, turn the heat to medium and let it simmer for 30 minutes. Optional: As the water is boiling with the herbs, speak out loud a Psalm of your choice over the pot. This helps to amplify the energy of the water and lock in your intentions. I like Pslam 23 as it’s just so powerfully protective.

Step 2: Allow the water to completely cool.

Step 3: After the water is cooled, amplify the power of this sacred bath wash by adding in one or both of the following: Juice squeezed from one whole lemon or lime and one tablespoon of Florida water (optional).

Step 4: Strain the water into a large bowl or bucket.

Step 5: Take your normal shower.

Step 6: After the shower, slowly pour the water over your body starting from your head or your shoulders if you don’t want to get your hair wet. As you do this speak out loud the things that you want to leave your life. Examples:

  • I release all negativity
  • I release all rage
  • I release all stress
  • I release all depression
  • I return to sender any evil eye times ten

Saying at least a few of these statements as you pour the water over your body is so vital because your voice adds power to your wishes and amplifies the power of the bath.

After you’ve poured the water all over you  – allow your body to air dry and then moisturize your body and get dressed as normal. The best times to do this are either at night or when you have the whole day to yourself after taking the bath.

Take note that you help to keep your aura nice and clean by laying down in all white after the wash and listening to a grounding meditation while holding a piece of black tourmaline crystal.

3. New Moon Call In Love Sacred Bath

With this bath it’s important to honor one’s sensual but earthy nature. This point of this sacred bath is to make you feel more attractive energetically and emotionally which will then garner more attention. The sweet and light scents of jasmine and lavender hit the mark on both points, plus it literally smells so seductive that I would also offer up this bath to lovers—both you and your partner can take this bath together to strengthen the passionate bond between the two of you.

This bath can be done under the New Moon, Full Moon or on Fridays which is ruled by Venus, the Goddess of Love and Sex.

 Ingredients:

  • Pink & white candles of any kind
  • Crystals (rose quartz, clear quartz & raw emerald – optional
  • 1 bundle of lavender sage or 1 stick of lavender incense
  • 6 drops of lavender essential oil
  • 6 drops of jasmine essential oil
  • 1 teaspoon of jojoba oil
  • 3 pinches of dried basil
  • 3 pinches of dried lavender
  • 3 pinches of dried pink, red or white rose pedals OR
  • 1 cup of fresh rose petals
  • 2 cups of epsom salt

The Ritual:

Step 1: Ensure that your bathroom is clean both physically and energetically by cleaning it and then lighting the lavender sage and wafting it around the room.

Step 2: As you start to run the bathwater, set your intention that you are drawing this bath to pull in abundance in all forms.

Step 3: Mix together the oils then add them to the 2 cups of epsom salt. Stir in the dried basil, lavender, and rose petals. Pour this mix into the tub under running water. Drop in additional rose petals if available.

Step 4: Dim the lights and light your candles.

Step 5: Drop your crystals into the water (optional).

Step 6: As you step into the bath, state out loud: “What I seek is seeking me. My heart is ready to love and be loved.”

Step 7: Luxuriate in this heady aroma for 20-40 minutes while holding thoughts of peace, passion, and never-ending romantic love. You can also picture in your mind the outfits you will wear when you go out on date after date after date. If you’re doing this as a couple, you can say sweet prayers of affirmation of love and support to one another.

To boost the power of this ritual bath, listen to a heart chakra balancing meditation.
