Every month, Melissa Wade and The Light 103.9 honor a local faith leader for their work on the pulpit and in their community with the Pastor of The Month presentation, sponsored by Trice Funeral Home, LLC!
This month, we are proud to honor Bishop David Bing Sr., the pastor of Destiny Church of God Of Prophecy (COGOP) in Goldston! Karen M. of Siler City nominated Bishop Bing for this honor. Here’s what she had to say:
Bishop Bing has many clips for living, but two of his favorite ones are “DESTINY IS A NO JUDGMENTAL ZONE,” AND “HOLINESS IS RIGHT.”
Bishop Bing is a light in the Chatham County and other counties. He spends an extended amount time in prayer asking God to order his steps. He is always there for his congregation, the community and anyone who is seeking God. As a part of his exercise routine, he meets a lot of people as he walks the streets of Siler City sharing his love for people and his love for Jesus. He loves people and has a gift for counseling those that are seeking God. He is not afraid or ashamed to meet people where they are. He believes totally in everything God has spoken. Bishop Bing does not add or take away from the word.
Bishop Bing is a faithful man of prayer that exemplifies how powerful and necessary prayer is. As a visionary, he started the Prophets Hour in 2018 which is a one-hour time of prayer. This time of prayer has continued until now and has resulted in many lives being changed, people being healed, and many accepting Christ.
Bishop Bing has been married to the love of his life, Lady Andrea Bing, for 34 years. They have four children, Tarell, Sha’Rese, David Jr., and Sha’Reena. They have four grandchildren.
We would like to nominate our Bishop because of the love and compassion he shows to everyone. He is like the good Samaritan that stops by the side of the road to help. Bishop Bing is passionate about connecting people to God and encouraging us to live by faith and not by sight 2 Corinthians 5:7.
