Christal Luster Shares How Her Faith Walk Produced Purpose

Christal Luster is a multi-talented singer, songwriter, actress, entrepreneur, and author. Her video series, “9 Things I Wish I Knew As A Christian Bride” went viral due to her transparency and honesty about her personal experiences through marriage and divorce. Offering advice to those who may be in a similar space that Luster once was, she emphasizes the importance of acknowledging red flags, remaining faithful, and trusting God through it all in her videos. With faith at the center of her journey, Luster chooses to prioritize her relationship with God.
“My faith is definitely what keeps me alive and going,” she shared in an interview with Elev8.
Growing up, Luster knew she was meant to be a wife and that was something she longed for. Although she witnessed her parents’ long lasting marriage, she did not truly know what that meant. Realizing she was in a space where everything in her life needed to be perfect and glorifying God, she later realized that what she yearned for was much more than just checking off boxes. Through unhappiness and realizing that things were not working, Luster had to lean into her faith walk and ask God what her next step was. With the help of both therapy and prayer, she was led to accept who God called her to be as a person.
“As the person that I am started to heal, I started to realize that I had outgrown the marriage I was in and that the marriage I was in was not a conducive place to foster the growth that was needed for my purpose and my walk,” Luster said.
Reminding others that they are not alone, Luster has brought authenticity to the forefront through sharing her personal journey, struggles, and triumph, offering a genuine perspective on what it means to trust God through the good and the bad.
